Below is a list of frequently asked questions we have been asked about scanning your slides, film and photographs.
If you can see the answer to your question, please send us a message here or click on the chat button at the bottom right of the screen.
A 35mm slide has a viewing area of 36mm x 24mm, these are normally in either a paper or plastic case. A negative strip is what would be returned along with your photographs when you sent these off for processing and have 4 images on one strip. Medium format films are generally 60mm wide and vary in length, and large format film is classed as anything above 100mm width. If in doubt, please send us a picture of your film and send it to us here.
All 35mm slides and negatives are scanned at a resolution of approx. 3500dpi on the longest side (750%) and photographs at 3000dpi (200%), we have found these are optimal resolutions for these formats. Higher resolutions can be supplied, please contact us here to find out more.
All our files are saved as Jpegs set at maximum quality, if required, we can save files in any format you require. There may be an additional charge for some formats.
No we don't. Our scanners can digitise your slides without removing or damaging the mounts.

Your digital files are firstly sent to you as a digital download via email and then a few days later your original photos along with a USB Flash Drive will be posted back to you recorded delivery. The download link can be used as many times as you like and will last for 30 days after being sent.
We remove any dust on your photos and wipe them with lint free cloths, but we do not use any chemicals as due to the age of some photos this can remove emulsion / print.
We keep all scanned images for a minimum of 90 days from sending you your digital files. We recommend that when you receive your USB stick you backup these files to another hard drive / computer.
Due to viruses and reliability we only use our own brand new USB drives.
